The objective set themselves by the organizers of the Festival – Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Toruń City Council and Scientific Society of Toruń – is the popularization of science, as well as arts among the citizens of Toruń and the region. Not only employees of schools in Toruń, but also those of local companies and institutions, present scientific achievements or activities associated with arts used in their work. In 2002, The Society for Experimental Prehistoric Archaeology of NCU for the first time took part in the presented event. Since then, the Festival of Science and Arts has become regular element of the annual events of the Society. It is a combination of workshop and demonstrations of techniques used in the Stone Age. Visitors have the opportunity to participate in various activities related to the use of stone, flint, bone tools (among others treatment of leather, bones, wood, amber). All volunteers can try their hand at molding ceramic vessels, flint cracking or archery. During the event members of the Society are dressed in the primeval style and use replicas of tools from the Stone Age, made with the employment of primeval techniques.
